To access the cafeteria, please park in the parking lot closest to the tennis courts using the South Entrance into RVHS, the entrance across the street from Family Dollar. During the interest meeting, you will receive vital information regarding the coming season, the opportunity to meet the coaching staff, and ask questions. Not able to make the meeting? No problem! The tryout packet, calendar, and physical information is attached to this email.
We will begin open practices next week Tuesday, March 5th at 4:15 PM in the small gym. You must have a physical uploaded to Planet HS (information on how to get started attached to this email) to participate in open practices/conditioning. Open practices will be Tuesday-Thursday through the remainder of March from 4:15 PM - 6:15 PM. We will condition once a week in April on Wednesdays beginning April 10th from 4:15 PM - 5:45 PM.
Please keep in mind open practices and conditioning are NOT mandatory. For tryouts, ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL DATED AFTER APRIL 1, 2024. This means, if you do not already have a physical on file and you get one to participate in our March and April practices/conditioning, you MUST have another one dated after April 1, 2024 for tryouts that begin in May.
*A reminder of some changes that have come to the RVHS Cheer Program --
The spring tryout will be for our football/competitive season ONLY. We will hold a separate tryout in the fall for the winter spirit season. Please be mindful, not all competitive cheerleaders will make the winter spirit season as there are a lot less spots available.
Students cannot have prior unpaid cheerleading fees from previous seasons. Doing so will result in the inability to try out. Any balances must be cleared before being allowed to participate in open season and/or tryouts
Tryout applications are due no later than April 29, 2024. Failure to have a completed application turned in by that date will result in the inability to try out. You will receive an email with your try out number and additional details regarding tryouts no later than Friday, May 3, 2024. Here you will also find out if you have completed all requirements to try out or if your application has been denied.
Tryouts will be held May 6 - May 8.
